Title | A Wooded River Valley with two Fishermen |
Description | Landscape with a large oak in the centre - water and distance to the right with a man fishing. A woodland scene in the fresh and juicy manner of Hobbema, with a riverbank in the foreground, on which appears some small figures. The trees are painted as usual, freely handled and picturesque. A small rowboat with three figures in it creates a horizontal in the water. Despite doubts over the authenticity of this painting, it is probably an autograph replica of The Anglers which is in the Norwich Castle Museum and Art Gallery. |
