| Description |
One of three works from Ffion Williams’ installation Cymraeg Ddrwg (Bad Welsh). Along with Williams’ wider practice, Cymraeg Ddrwg explores Welsh identity, colonial legacies within Wales and the artist’s reflections on both. Developed through a layering of painted text, in a font created by the artist, the form and materials used are a reference to Wales’ industrial heritage and history of protest and strikes. The text stems from interviews the artist conducted with the public at Abergavenny
train station, where individuals were asked to reflect on climate change, hope and
their experiences of protest. |
