| Title | Sir Richard Lodge |

| Description | Full length portrait of the sitter, placed in an armchair in front of a large black screen. Lodge is seen at full length with his left arm resting on the chair and his right in his lap, looking out to the right. Despite a very restrained range of browns, geys and blacks, a warm tonality is nevertheless maintained trough thin application of pigment over earth coloured underpaint. This is one of the finest recent accessions to the University Collections, this version has a copy by the artist himself. |
