A mosaic panel of Edinburgh, including images of Edinburgh Castle, Holyrood Park, Old Town, New Town, and possibly the Firth of Forth. A label next to the panel is printed 'AN EDINBURGH MOSAIC / This panel in vitreous mosaic was presented to Moray House in November 1938. / The inscription states: / 'In the garden of Moray House on 1st of May 1707 the ambassadors of / Scotland subscribed the Act of Union between England and Scotland.' / Old Moray House features in the general design and the summer house in which / the treaty was signed is clearly visible. The artist was William J. Macaulay. / Andrew Grant Fellow of Edinburgh College of Art'. |
