Description
Technical description: Nickel-plated pressed steel construction. The pedal hinge which carries the main spring is fastened to lower frame side-rails by an early example of spot welding. Distance from cymbal centre to hinge 233; Distance from securing clip hinge pin to centre line of hinge bracket 30. The lower rails have been stamped at four places to form a sharp spur to reduce sliding on a wooden floor; two additional wooden spurs are stamped on the lower rails at the heel end unlike (3637). The lower strap is fitted with a clip that holds the pedal closed for transport. Cymbals are mounted with wing nuts on the end of the pedal mechanism, on adjustable bars to allow alignment of cymbals. The footplate is pierced with nine cut-outs to lighten pedal. A heel stop is spot welded to the lower end of the footplate. There is a rivet `stop' fitted to the pedal unlike (3637) which is of similar design. Repair History: Heel plate has been broken off and reinstated with a nut and bolt secured by brazing. |
