DescriptionMilitary model bass drum. Lapped wooden shell with joint at top of drum reinforced by rivetted strip carrying the suspension eye for player's harness. Rope-tensioned at 12 points. 26-inch heads.
Decoration: Colourful painted decoration with heads of lion and unicorn flanking crest with "HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE" surmounted by royal crown. Inscribed below painted decoration on front "ROYAL / PERTHSHIRE MILITIA".
Repair History: There is evidence of repaired damage to shell of drum. |
