DescriptionTechnical description: Boxwood; 4 sections; brass keys; 4 ivory ferrules plus cap; graduated screw-stopper; large oval embouchure-hole. R0: Keymount type: ring/knob. Keyhead type: flat square; G♯ keyhead is plain, the others are notched and chamfered. Repair History: Bottom foot ferrule is a replacement (slightly too long and loose); G♯ key is probably a replacement; modern corks added under keys. Overall size: 607mm Sounding length: embouchure to foot: 534mm Bore: conical Stamped "GEROCK & WOLF / 79 / CORNHILL / LONDON". Performance characteristics: Range D⁴ - A⁶. Speaks easily throughout range, with a clear, rather shrill sound. Usable pitch: A⁴ = c 446 Hz - c 449 Hz. |
