Tabla are two drums that are played by the same person. The instruments provides the main rhythmic accompaniment for north Indian classical music, Indian film music, folk, and devotional music in India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
Metal bowl shell; goatskin head (‘jouri’) bound by leather thongs plaited and tensioned by leather thongs (‘baddhi’) of camel skin. Associated with tabla (1625).
