Description
Technical description: Brass. 3rd valve tubing forms thumb rest. Windway runs mouthpipe - m.t.s. - 3 - 2 - 1 - auxiliary tuning-slide - bell. Water-key. Fitting for music card-holder. Similar design to (202) and (2857). Valve type: 3 Périnet valves. Repair History: The 2nd valve stem is a replacement.
Overall size: 994; bell 410 (uneven).
Bore: m.t.s and v.t.s. (3,2,1) and auxiliary m.t.s. 17.1.
Dia of mouthpiece receiver: m.r.t. 14.8 - 13.4.
Inscribed on bell "CLASS / A" / "50 MEDALS OF HONOUR" within banner / monogram FB / "BESSON & CO / Prototype / 198 EUSTON ROAD / LONDON" / five pointed star; on side of valve casings and stems, and on top caps "4", "5", "6"; on side of 2nd valve casing "BESSON & CO / BREVETE" within ellipse with five pointed star, and "78188".
