Description
Technical description: This screw-mechanism, squared, ebony frog has a silver ferrule and a one-piece silver (?) heelplate and backplate, which is held in place with two small pins. The frog has mother-of-pearl eyes and a mother-of-pearl slide. Overall size: 61.5mm. Ferrule width: 12.57mm. Frog height: 20.94mm. Frog top height: 41.45mm.
Inscriptions: Labelled "F26". There is also a label tied onto the screw under the button: "VUILLAUME self hairing and fixed nut". [tied to wrong item? Matches ciii.]
A section of the slide near the heel is missing. The octagonal ebony button with a rim has two silver rings and is missing its button eye. There is some corrosion on the screw. |
