Technical description: Wooden shell, nailed together with pattern of dome-headed nails. Rope-tension with ten buffs. Snare of five strands of gut. 16-inch heads.

Specific usage history: Possibly one of the instruments acquired by Sir Samuel Hellier (1736-1784) for orchestral use at Wombourne, Staffordshire.
