DescriptionNickel-plated brass material shell and counter-hoops; wooden flesh hoops; skin heads; screwed rod tensioning, needing drum-key to adjust tension; wire covered snares; felt damper. 14-inch head.
Signature marks: Brass plate on outside of shell inscribed "Rhythmax" / drum motif / "Drums / J.J.V. & S.". Lower skin stamped "TRANSPARENT / L C" / cow's head with crown / "CROWN HEAD". Recently replaced aluminium plate on snare anchorage stamped "J.B.". Stamped on damper clamp "NEW / PREMIER".
Repair History: The snare strainer mechanism appears to be a replacement; some of the tensioner hooks over the rim of the batter (top) head are home-made replacements. |
