Description

Technical description: Side-blown, open-ended bamboo flute, with bone ferrules and silk binding; mouth-hole, nasalizing hole for membrane and 6 finger-holes on top; 4 vent-holes; diameter 22mm; silk binding painted brown. Nasalizing membrane missing. Overall size: 640mm. Specific literature references: Probably to be identified with Engel 1872, item 488; possibly to be identified with one of three `wang tien' in Hipkins 1885, p.117.
