DescriptionTrompette à clefs. 6 keys. Technical description: Brass; two coils; wired bell rim. Ligature tuning at mouthpipe. 6 keys, all placed for right hand, 3 parallel with tube, 3 on bridges. Overall size: 428; bell 130. Sounding length: with tuning shank in, to keyhole centres, 1370; 1450; 1520; 1595; 1630; 1769; overall, 2001. Bore: at c 20mm from mouthpiece receiver (minimum bore), 11.2; at 1000mm from bell end, c 11.2; at c 306mm from bell end, 15.8; at 23.1mm from bell end, 80.0. B = 0.77 (no toneholes open). Bell cutoff = 900 Hz. Dia of mouthpiece receiver: m.r.t. 11.7 - 11.2. Keymount type: saddle. Keyhead type: cup. Inscribed on side of bell "Müller / a Lyon". Usable pitch: Plays c 20 cents above A⁴ = 440 Hz with tuning shank in. Repair History: Key nearest bell a replacement. 2 patches on body of tube. Performance characteristics: the input impedance and harmonicity of the air column resonances are reported in Myers and Campbell 2006.
