Technical description: brass; two water-keys; fitting for music card holder. Valve type: 3 Périnet valves, bottom sprung; alignment by key on piston. Repair History: The bow of the main tuning-slide is a poor replacement. Overall size: 547; bell c 239; corpus diameter c 265. Sounding length: minimum 1798. Bore: mouthpipe at c 80mm from mouthpiece receiver (minimum bore) 8.1; m.t.s. at c 286mm from mouthpiece receiver, tuning slide bore 10.1; centre of valve cluster at c 573mm from mouthpiece receiver, v.t.s. bore (1,2,3) 11.6; 899mm from bell end, c 13.2; c 572mm from bell end, 18.6. B = 0.52. Dia of mouthpiece receiver: m.r.t. 9.8 - 9.0. Stamped on bell "Class A" / trumpet and banner trademark incorporating "TRADE MARK" and "DISTIN" / "Patent Light Valve / BOOSEY & Co. / MAKERS / 295 REGENT STt. / LONDON / 25789 / G S / 13"; on side of valve casings "22", "23", "24"; on side of 2nd valve casing: trumpet and banner trademark incorporating "TRADE MARK" and "DISTIN". Decorative features: None. With fitted hard case, damaged. Three valve buttons and two top caps missing; the pivot screw of the water key on the main tuning slide is missing; finger ring for R4 broken off and missing. |
