With a bit of overall length 35mm. With fitting for music card-holder. Valve type: 3 Périnet valves, bottom-sprung; alignment by key on piston. Repair History: New springs, new screws for cardholder box, 1969. Overall size: 362 perpendicular to bell; corpus diameter 260; bell 220. Sounding length: minimum (in F) 1759; Eb tuning slide air column longer than that of F tuning slide by 210mm; bit adds 22mm to air column. Bore: mouthpipe at c 30mm from mouthpiece receiver (minimum bore) 10.3; centre of valve cluster at c 186mm from mouthpiece receiver, v.t.s. bore (1,2,3) 11.3; m.t.s. at c 409mm from mouthpiece receiver, tuning slide bore 11.7; m.t.s. at c 527mm from mouthpiece receiver, tuning slide bore 12.1; 894mm from bell end, c 15.7; c 534mm from bell end, 22.2; 33.5mm from bell end, 110. B = 0.57. Bell cutoff = 800 Hz. Dia of mouthpiece receiver: m.r.t. 11.5 - 10.6. Bit internal taper 11.4 - 10.4, external taper 10.9 - 11.7. Inscribed on bell "PATENT / CLEAR BORE / CLASS / A" / lion and unicorn motif / "EXHIBITION / PRIZE MEDALS / AWARDED / TO / J. HIGHAM LTD / MAKERS / 127, STRANGEWAYS / MANCHESTER / 55162" / embossed circular plaque with lion & unicorn motif; on 2nd valve casing "D / 239". Alternative tuning slides inscribed "F" and "Eb".
