DescriptionTechnical description: Brass, two coils of unequal size; garland c 31mm wide and rim reinforcing band c 7mm wide; Nürnberg bell rim. Keys arranged for operation by the left hand; two keys mounted on bridges. Number of keys: 5 Keymount type: saddle. Keyhead type: flat round. Overall size: 421mm; bell 123-127mm Sounding length: to keyhole centres, 914mm, 1049mm, 1178mm, 1287mm, 1340mm; overall, 1537mm; crooks add 562mm and 789mm respectively. Bore: at c 28mm from mouthpiece receiver (locol minimum bore), 10.65mm; at 769mm from bell end, c 10.45mm; at c 324mm from bell end, 14.8mm; at 23.2mm from bell end, 72.0. B = 0.79 (in G). Bell cut off = 1000Hz. Diametre of mouthpiece receiver: m.r.t. 11.6 - 10.8mm. Stamped on garland "Franz Stöhr in Prag" with emblem of imperial double-headed eagle with one crown both before and after words. Decorative features: milled decoration of narrow bands on bell rim reinforcement and edge of garland. Purchased with and possibly formerly used with two crooks, for D (5783) and C (5784), and mouthpiece (5785). |
