This boxwood flute in four sections and with a single brass key was made by Collier. The four ferrules are ivory as is the cap. The embouchure hole is oval. There is one additional upper body section (“corps de rechange”) that has survived with the instrument. The lengths of the upper body sections (without tenons) are 136.5 and 147.5 respectively, resulting in sounding lengths (embouchure to foot) of 524mm and 535mm respectively, and overall lengths of the instrument of 593mm and 604mm. The shorter upper body has a slightly cracked tenon.
