DescriptionBookmatched soundboard of spruce. Soundhole 80.8mm diameter. Purfling around soundhole of alternate strips of ebony and maple, 27 in all including wider ebony strip at inside. Edging of rosewood with maple and ebony strips inside. Modern guitar rectangular bridge of rosewood 180mm × 25mm, ivory saddle at tie section top. Back and sides of bookmatched cypress with ebony edging, centre line at bottom of sides, and ebony/maple/ebony centre on back. Heel, neck and head of mahogany, heel flows smoothly into head. Head veneered on top with rosewood. Friction pegs of rosewood with mother-of-pearl dots on their ends. Rosewood fingerboard. 19 frets, top one split bass and treble. Neck 50.5mm wide at nut, 60.0mm wide at body join. Ivory nut. Label under soundhole reads "Manuel Ramirez / CONSTRUCTOR / Luthier del Conservatorio Nacional / Año 1914 / ARLABAN 10. - MADRID". The last two figures of the date are handwritten, the figure before the 4 is damaged. However, comparing this to other labels from the same makers it is safe to determine it is indeed 1914.
