DescriptionTechnical description: Boxwood with brass keywork. Five pieces: mouthpiece, barrel, upper section, lower section, bell.
Mouthpiece: dark wood with long tenon (33mm); grooved for cord; table wide (15 *X* 40); aperture 10 *X* 25. Ferrules ivory, rather narrower than usual.
Barrel: waisted but with marked swelling at lower end; ferrules only 5mm wide; bored to take long-tenoned mouthpiece.
Upper section: speaker liner projects less into the bore than usual.
Lower section: no thumb rest; levers for L4, tone-hole and key for R4 mounted in a bell-shaped swelling.
Bell almost continuous, with wide ivory rim. Wood recessed under cross keys.
