DescriptionTechnical description: Maple wood with chrome plated german silver ferrules and keywork. Five pieces: mouthpiece, curved metal barrel, upper section, lower section, bell. Named Heckel-mouthpiece, grooved for cord. Patent B♭ mechanism: speaker key alone opens twin hole (two chimneys), when depressed with throat A key two extra vents are opened. Connection between both keys also closes one vent when only throat A is depressed. Rings on R1 and R2 close vent just above R1. Plate on thumb-hole. Basset keys under fontanelles. 18 keys, 4 rings. 1 plate. L0: Plate; speaker corresponding with throat A key. L1: T + ring + vent; throat A♮ corresponding with speaker; throat A♭. L2: T + ring + vent; alternative cross key for F₄/C₆. L3: T; E♭₄/B♭₅. L4: C♯₄/G♯₅; E₃/B♮₄; F♯₃/C♯₅. R0: E♭₃; D₃; C♯₃; C₃. R1: T; side F₄/C₆; side E♭₄/B♭₅; side trill for throat A-B♮ and B♭/C₅.
