DescriptionTechnical description: Viennese action grand pianoforte. Compass 78 notes, C₁ - F₇ [CC - f'''']. Trichord stringing except the lowest five notes which are bichord. Brass strings C₁ to G♯₂; iron strings A₂ to F₇. Four pedals: outer left una corda; inner two pedals moderator for piano and pianissimo; outer right sustaining pedal. The moderator interposes either one (piano) or two (pianissimo) strips of woollen cloth between the hammers and the strings. |
