Technical description: brass; gusseted bell without garland; fitting for music card holder. Valve type: 3 Périnet valves. Serial number: 9993. Overall size: perpendicular to bell 435; corpus diameter 328; bell diameter 272. Sounding length: segment lengths: from distal end of ferrule after valves to mid ferrule 662; bell segment 922. Bore: m.t.s. 11.5; v.t.s. (1,2,3) 11.5. Bell flare:- Dia of mouthpiece receiver: crook receiver taper 12.7 - 11.8. Stamped on bell: monogram FB / "F. BESSON / BREVETÉ / 198 EUSTON ROAD / LONDON"; on side of valve casings, stems and top and bottom caps "7", "8", "9"; on 2nd valve casing "BESSON / BREVETÉ" within ellipse, and "9993". Repair History: Valve buttons missing.
