DescriptionTechnical description: Fixed mouthpipe. On this type of instrument, pitch change from F to E♭ is possible using a longer tuning-slide in cor solo style. Metal construction: yellow brass; gusseted bell, seamed main segments, seamless valve tubing and mouthpipe; german silver garland (width 24), ferrules, valve trim and hand guard. Valve type: 3 rotary valves of standard pattern though with caps on underside of instrument and lever linkages on upper side (reverse of modern design). Clocksprings. Cork buffers mounted on rotors; fixed pins on valves casing. Repair History: Several small patches; bell much repaired. |
