DescriptionOver the shoulder model.
Technical description: Brass. With alternative tuning-slides: one putting the bell in over-the-shoulder configuration (a single slide); the other putting the bell in normal forward-facing configuration (but only a single slide). The playing slide has no stockings. Repair History: The tuning-slide for rear-facing configuration is a replacement. The tapered piece at the top of the ascending playing slide (to fit into receiver on bell section) appears to be an addition or a replacement.
Overall size: with bell to rear: 1248; to front 1080. Bell 139.
Sounding length: with bell to rear: 2685; to front 2664.
Bore: at c 25mm from mouthpiece receiver (minimum bore), 11.5; descending slide, 11.5; ascending slide, 11.5; forward facing tuning slide (original) 11.8; rear facing tuning slide 12.0; at c 405mm from bell end, 16.3; at 20.3mm from bell end, 92.4. B = 0.80 (bell to rear); B = 0.79 (bell to front). Bell cutoff = 900 Hz.
Dia of mouthpiece receiver: m.r.t. 11.8 - 11.6.
Usable pitch: with mouthpiece (3739) configured bell to rear plays c 25 cents above A⁴ = 440 Hz; bell to front plays 40 cents above A⁴ = 440 Hz.
No inscriptions.
Decorative features: Blade form bow guard on outer slides.
