Bore: mouthpipe at c 53mm from mouthpiece receiver (minimum bore) 9.7; centre of valve cluster at c 179mm from mouthpiece receiver, v.t.s. bore (1,2,3) 11.4; m.t.s. at c 393mm from mouthpiece receiver, tuning slide bore 12.3; m.t.s. at c 632mm from mouthpiece receiver, tuning slide bore 12.9; at 994mm from bell end, c 15.8; at c 582mm from bell end, 22.3. B = 0.52. Dia of mouthpiece receiver: m.r.t. 11.5 10.8. Inscribed on bell: an almost illegible circular feature (possibly a medal) with lettering below ".....OSITION 1861" / "E. DANIEL / BREVETÉ" / five pointed star containing the letter "G" / "MARSEILLE" / ellipse containing "SAXHORN / 7162 / ALTO" / monogram AS with "AUTORISE" and "D.G.
