DescriptionTechnical description; silver plated brass; round rim contour; maximum bite curvature 2.0; conical cup shape; smoothly blended throat. Cup volume 2294; shape quotient 0.832. Overall size: length 66.4; external diameter 23.0. Sounding length: cup depth c 47. Bore: cup diameter 14.8; minimum diameter 4.8. Depth of taper: shank tapers smoothly to join rim of cup. Diameter of taper: minimum 6.9. Stamped on side of cup "B & H / AB", possibly indicating an `Aubrey Brain' model. Given with and possibly formerly used with orchestral horn (532). |
