DescriptionTechnical description: Cocus wood with 5 ivory ferrules and german silver keywork. Five pieces: mouthpiece, barrel, upper section, lower section, bell. Mouthpiece of dark wood; socket type; long table. Tip broken. High-wasted barrel with two ivory ferrules.Upper section: speaker liner projects c 2mm into bore. Straight speaker. Three keys mounted in saddles (throat A♭, side F₄/C₆, cross C♯₄/G♯₅).Lower section: wide ivory ferrule, thumb rest probably a later addition; side B♮₃/F♯₅ in saddles; levers for L4, tone-hole and key for R4 mounted in a bell-shaped swelling. 12-key system plus alternative B♮₃/F♯₅ for R2. L0: T; speaker. L1: T; throat A♮. L2: T; throat A♭. L3: T; E♭₄/B♭₅. L4: cross C♯₄/G♯₅; E₃/B♮₄; F♯₃/C♯₅. R1: T; side F₄/C₆; side trill key for throat A-B♮ and B♭-C. R2: T; alternative cross B♮₃/F♯₅. R3: T; B♭₃/F♮₅; side B♮₃/F♯₅. R4: F₃/C₅; G♯₃/E♭₅. Keyhead type: round flat. Keymount type: blocks, 4 saddles and bell-shaped swelling. Ivory ferrule on lower section cracked; hair crack on lower section. Mouthpiece stuck with cardboard to fit the ligature. F♯ corrector key for R2 has been replaced with saltspoon cup type.
