DescriptionTechnical description: Silver-plated; round rim contour; maximum bite curvature 1.5; cuspoid cup shape. Cup volume 2527; shape quotient 0.791. Overall size: length 67.5; external diameter 23.3. Sounding length: cup depth c 45. Bore: cup diameter 15.8; minimum diameter 4.9. Depth of taper: shank tapers smoothly to join rim of cup. Diameter of taper: minimum 6.8. Stamped on side of cup "A.B. / B & H", possibly indicating an `Aubrey Brain' model. Purchased by lender with and probably formerly used with orchestral horn (1874), fits crooks with narrower mouthpiece receiver taper. |
