R0: Keymount type: ring/knob. Keyhead type: pewter plug, with metal-lined key-holes. Repair History: [Original screw-stopper replaced by plain cork]. Overall size: 654mm (without cap) Sounding length: embouchure to foot, 595mm Bore: conical Stamped "POTTER / JOHNSON'S COURT / FLEET STREET / LONDON", with "PATENT" on foot; tuning-slide gradations stamped "4", "5" and "6". Performance characteristics: [Original range C⁴ - A⁶].Low register not speaking in present condition; upper registers speak but become progressively flatter (probably due to poor positioning of cork). Usable pitch: A⁴ = c 430 Hz in second octave. |
