Valve type: 3 Périnet valves, top sprung by compression spring inside hollow stem; alignment by 3 unequal lugs on spring anchor plate. Overall size: 432; corpus diameter c 260; bell 195. Sounding length: with postulated shank of effective length 87, 1715. Bore: at c 33mm from crook receiver 10.8; v.t.s. bore (3,2,1) 11.4; m.t.s. bore 11.6 12.3; at 858mm from bell end, c 15.1; at c 500mm from bell end, 21.35. Dia of mouthpiece receiver: shank receiver 12.5 - 11.6. Inscribed on bell "KOENIG HORN / INVENTÉ PAR / ANTOINE COURTOIS / BREVETÉ / FACTEUR DU CONSERVATOIRE IMPÉRIAL / RUE DU CAIRE 21 PARIS" and within a circle "MÉDAILLE / DE / 1RE. CLASSE / EXPOSITION / UNIVERSELLE / 1855"; on embossed shield shaped silver plaque on bell "á Son ami / Hermann Koenig"; on sides of valve casings and on bottom caps "1", "2", "3"; underneath 3rd valve top cap "309".
