DescriptionTechnical description: german silver or nickel-plated; shank lengthened by soldered-on brass sleeve; semi-flat rim contour; maximum bite curvature 1.0; intermediate cup shape; maximum throat curvature 15. Cup volume 6312; shape quotient 1.168. Repair History: Converted from a trombone mouthpiece for use as a serpent mouthpiece. Overall size: length 101.2; external diameter 38.8. Sounding length: cup depth 26. Bore: cup diameter 24.3; minimum diameter 7.2. Depth of taper: shank depth 45.6. Diameter of taper: maximum 12.4 (top of sleeve); minimum 12.4; 13.7 (top of original shank). No inscriptions. Converted from a trombone mouthpiece for use as a serpent mouthpiece. Lent with and possibly formerly used with serpent in C (1725). |
