DescriptionTechnical description: Brass; very flat rim contour with sharp transition (c 0.5mm radius) to external diameter; maximum bite curvature 0.75; intermediate cup shape with sharp-edged throat. Cup volume 1109; shape quotient 1.225. Overall size: length 72.0; external diameter 24.5. Sounding length: cup depth 10.0; grain length c 8. Bore: cup diameter 15.5; minimum diameter 4.1. Depth of taper: shank depth 32.2. Diameter of taper: maximum 12.2; minimum 10.3. No inscriptions. Allocated with, probably formerly used with and possibly supplied by manufacturer with natural trumpet in F (996).
