DescriptionTechnical description: Boxwood; 4 sections; german silver keys; 5 german silver ferrules; large oval embouchure-hole; large finger-holes, especially L2 and R2. Keymount type: ring/knob. Keyhead type: saltspoon. Overall size: 605mm Sounding length: embouchure to foot: 624mm Bore: conical Stamped "J.H. EBBLEWHITE / MAKER / 24 HIGH ST. / ALDGATE LONDON". Scratched ["SC"] "116" beneath maker's mark. Stamped "116" on top edge of head (beneath stopper) and bottom edge of foot. Performance characteristics: Range D⁴ - C⁷. Some notes unclear, probably due to crack, but C⁷ speaks easily. Usable pitch: A⁴ c 459 Hz. |
