DescriptionTechnical description: Cocus; 5 sections; german silver keys; 7 german silver ferrules; screw-stopper; tuning-slide; metal-lined head; large, slightly oval embouchure-hole; large L2 and R2 finger-holes; overlapping low C / C♯ touches; C♯ touch cut to fit round D♯ touch. Keymount type: knob. Keyhead type: saltspoon, with pewter plugs and metal key-hole surrounds for low C / C♯. Repair History: Long F mount reglued to body; C key mended. Overall size: 665 mm Sounding length: embouchure to foot, 588 mm Bore: conical Stamped "WYLDE / FROM / RUDALL & ROSE / 25 VILLIERS ST / STRAND / LONDON". Performance characteristics: [Original range C⁴ - C⁷ (sounding D♭⁴ - D♭⁷)]. In present condition only a few notes (mainly in 2nd octave) speak. Usable pitch: Sounding A⁴ c 436 Hz. |
