Maker Biography

D’Almaine & Co were English music publishers formerly known as Goulding & Co. Founded in London in 1785 by George Goudling and his partner Thomas D’Almaine, they soon became well known as music publishers and instrument makers, advertising themselves as ‘music-sellers to the Prince and Princess of Wales.’ Following the folding of Goulding & Co’s publishing department, the firm became known as Thomas D’Almaine and Co, producing pianos and organs until its dissolution in 1934.

Technical Description

Brass; slides with stockings; bell with garland; with water-key. Repair History: The slide section and the bell section may not always have been together. There is a flaring patch covering the inside of the bell mouth.
