The button is made of very white ivory, and is octagonal with a rim. Measurements: Weight: 73g. Hair length: 605mm. Balance point: 276mm. Head height: 29.5mm. Head width: 10.3mm. Face length: 27.0mm. Tip diameter: 7.6mm. Frog diameter: 10.1mm (measured at 200mm to avoid the lapping). Nipple range: 1.3 to 1.7mm. Period of oscillation: 1.36. Distance from pivot to tail: 64.8mm. There are clips in the ivory frog, including parts of the stamps. Current ownership: Government allocation to the University, 1991.
