DescriptionSocial Anthropology Teaching Collection consists of approximately 36 items, including musical instruments, children's toys, carved ornaments, jewellery made from shells, beads, seeds, and leather, metal and stone weapons, a feather costume with photograph, a wooden mask and statue, and wooden arrows. All items have been donated by previous members of staff. Many were collected while conducting fieldwork in West Africa, South America, and Oceania. Professor Kenneth Little, a former department professor, donated a number of the larger masks and objects.
