Veterinary teaching diagram collection

TitleVeterinary teaching diagram collection
DescriptionA collection of over 100 anatomical teaching diagrams from the Royal (Dick) Veterinary School. Painted onto large heavy cotton sheets, these colour anatomical diagrams were hung at the front of veterinary anatomy lecture theatres, and served to further illustrate the anatomy and physiology of animals used in lecture dissections. These diagrams include cross-sections of the brain and major organs of animals, all painted by hand. These diagrams were still used occasionally as a teaching aid through the twentieth century, but have since retired to the School's archive.
