Description | This collection consists of a variety of scientific instruments once used in the study of chemistry at Edinburgh University. Included, among others, are around 12 galvanometers, several microscopes, some micrometers, ammeters, hydrometers, eudiometers, goniometers, spectrometers, planimeters and an x-ray camera. There is also a variety of other laboratory equipment such as tweezers, thermometers, crucibles, bell jars and other glass items. Although not individually significant, they provide some insight into the history of chemistry teaching and research at the University. |
