Description
Technical description: Soundboard of spruce, with added cross-grained hardwood section from the neck join to just below the start of the soundhole. Soundhole 50.1mm diameter. Soundboard purfling of ebony and beech(?), arranged to have alternate strips of e/b/e/b/e/b, then a half-herringbone pattern, the strips of b/e/b/e/b/e. Beech around the edge of the instrument, then strips of e/b/e, then the half herringbone pattern, then strips of e/b/e. Bridge of walnut with inlaid ivory strips near the ends, total length 90mm, width 12mm. Back and sides of olivewood, with pale strip (maple?) at bottom of sides. Heel of pine, neck and head of mahogany, all flowing smoothly into each other. Top of head veneered in olivewood with pale strips down the centre with an olivewood strip in between. Fingerboard of walnut. Brass frets, 11 in total, last fret too close to fret 10. Ivory nut. Width of neck 38.2mm at nut, 47.2mm at body join.
