DescriptionTechnical description: Chanter of rosewood with ivory sole. Large bulb at neck. Seven finger-holes and one thumb-hole. Conical bore.Measurements: chanter length 370; bore 4.7 to 21.7. Repair History: Three bands of thread have been bound around the chanter, the first is at the neck, the second is above the first finger-hole, and the third is between the first and second finger-holes. These appear to be attempts at repair and there are large cracks in the instrument at these places. |
