Technical description: Cardboard box, c1880, containing assorted reeds.
Contents of the box: 12 cane drone single reeds, one of which is in a brass metal sleeve; cylindrical wood box containing four complete chanter double reeds and two incomplete chanter double reeds.
The box is from J.& P. Coats and was originally for six-cord spool cotton, there is a paper label of the company on both the top and bottom of the box. One side of the lid missing. |
