Description
Technical description: Clockwork model; in wooden case with detachable base with silk-covered sound-hole; calibrated from 40 to 208 with calibrated pull-rod at side of case to set bell to ring each 2, 3, 4 or 6 beats.
Inscribed on scale plate with calibrations and in centre "Presto Allegro Andante Larghetto Largo Adagio", at sides "75 / SLOW", "120 / QUICK" and "166 / DOUBLE / QUICK" and, below, "RUDALL CARTE & Co / LONDON"; inscribed on decorative brass plate on door of case, inside a belt surmounted by a crown, "METRONOME / DE / MAELZEL / LONDON"; inked inside case "11.84". |
