According to the firm's archives [instruments books], the instrument was "Tenor Bugle LP S.Plated To Canada", Model 3124 made by Sheridan in a batch of 15.
Technical description: matt silver-plated brass; two water-keys. Valve operated by R0. Inscribed rings on both tuning slides to indicate pull of main tuning-slide 89mm and pull of valve tuning-slide 51mm. Valve type: 1 Périnet valve, bottom sprung; alignment by key on piston.
Overall size: 515; bell 148.
Sounding length: Minimum 1601; main tuning slide pulled to inscribed ring adds 178mm.
Bore: mouthpipe at c 35mm from mouthpiece receiver (minimum bore) 9.3; m.t.s. at c 483mm from mouthpiece receiver, tuning slide bore 12.4; centre of valve at c 779mm from mouthpiece receiver, v.t.s. bore 12.4; 801mm from bell end, c 12.4; c 444mm from bell end, 18.5. B = 0.59.
Dia of mouthpiece receiver: m.r.t. 11.1 - 10.0.
Inscribed on upper side of bell "MADE BY / Boosey & Hawkes Ltd / London. / MADE IN ENGLAND / T / BUGLE / V"; on lower side of bell "L.P. / 236193".
Decorative features: m.o.p. button.
Playing accessories: Music card holder.
With black rexine covered fitted case.
