Technical description: Adjustable, calibrated from C₅ to C₆. Mahogany body. Graduated plunger with ink on paper semitone calibrations C₆ to C₅.
Overall size: 246 (closed).
Sounding length: 0 to 32 (C5) to 118 (C6) to 147.
Bore: Rectangular cross section, width 18; depth 20.
Probably made in England. No other inscriptions.
Usable pitch: C5, measured frequency +/- 0.1 cents, 544.94 Hz; +71.2 cents with respect to A4 = 440 Hz; equivalent to C5 at A4 = 442.9 Hz. C6, measured frequency +/- 0.1 cents, 1257.27 Hz; +317.6 cents with respect to A4 = 440 Hz; possibly poor calibration of plunger. |
