Sounding length: Overall lengths of air column: A crook 587,; Ab crook longer than 755mm, possibly 30 40mm missing; D crook 2102.
Dia of mouthpiece receiver: m.r.t. of A crook 8.2 at end, Ab crook 8.1 at end, D crook 8.1 at end; external tapers of A crook 11.9 - 12.6, Ab crook 12.0 - 12.6, D crook 12.0 - 12.8.
Inscribed "A", "Ab", "D" on rectangular silver plates.
Repair History: A crook in good condition, but with slight dents. Ab crook has broken mouthpiece end, surface corrosion, some slight dents. D crook has corroded surface, several serious dents.
Design and workmanship, especially details of stay, suggest that these crooks are from the same maker as (3131) and (3140). The contrast of poor condition of the Ab and D crooks and good condition of the A crook, suggests that they were not originally one set. |
