DescriptionTechnical description: Cork head with felt pad; `push-button' action. One of the earliest designs for a foot-operated drum beater, this uses a foot button that presses on a rocking lever. This in turn lifts a lever at the hinge of the beater mounting and moves the beater onto the drum. A coil spring returns the beater. The frame is of pressed steel, painted black; the linkages are of nickel-plated non-ferrous metal; the button has a rubber pad in it and the plate has a rubber stud for the heel to rest on. Repair History: Felt pad not original.
