Description
Technical description: Boxwood, with one surviving brass key mounted in blocks. The other keys have been removed, but the remaining saddles for the E♭ key and the hinged C♮ key seem to be original. The original holes for the side and cross keys for B♮/F♯ have been plugged and their saddles and blocks have been removed very neatly. A new hole has been drilled for a spectacle key, annular recesses cut round the two lower finger-holes and pillars with their screws fitted. This was probably carried out in the workshop of Thomas Glen.
