Bore: mouthpipe at c 40mm from mouthpiece receiver (minimum bore) 11.4; m.t.s. at c 309mm from mouthpiece receiver, tuning slide bore 13.0; centre of valve cluster at c 557mm from mouthpiece receiver, v.t.s. bore (1,2,3) 13.0; 1302mm from bell end, c 24.2; c 932mm from bell end, 34.2. B = 0.45. Dia of mouthpiece receiver: m.r.t. 12.3 - 11.4. Inscribed on bell "H.D. DOUGLAS & SON / 36 & 38 / BRUNSWICK ST. / GLASGOW."; on 2nd valve "40819 / (---)"; and on each piston with serial number etc. Heavily patinated. Crack in outer 3rd valve tuning slide. Usable pitch: Old Philharmonic pitch. |
